Chicago, Illinois is said to be one of the easiest places to become a CNA. The only thing that is required of potential CNA candidates is for them to complete a state approved training class and pass the state examination. However, once the state examination has been passed before you will be able to begin working you must pass a criminal background check, have completed at least the 8th grade, and be at least 16 years old. Saint Mary of the Nazareth Hospital Center, 1127 N Oakley Blvd Chicago, IL 60622, ph: (312) 770-2391: They provide a basic CNA training program that lasts for 94 hours of theory and 49 hours of clinical. Once this eight week program has been completed you will receive your certificate. This program has been approved by the Illinois department of health. 2. Career Training Center of Chicago, 3525 W. Peterson Ave., Suite T-21, Chicago, IL 60659, ph: (773) 583-1433: This facility is said to provide CNA training courses that guarantee jobs after you have completed their class. They even are flexible with their scheduling. If you need weekend classes they have that available as well.
3. Harold Washington College CNA Program, 30 E Lake St Chicago, IL 60601, ph:(312) 553-5600: This college is part of the City Colleges of Chicago program. After you finish their CNA program you will be awarded with a certificate. Their classes last from 12- 13 weeks.
4. East Western University: This University offers a CNA course. You may even be able to receive financial aid as well.
5. Americare Home Health Group, 816 South Michigan Avenue Chicago, IL 60605: Some CNA’s have reported that they received their training from here. Their program has been labeled as being amazing.
6. Abbey Home Health Services, Inc, 4554 N Broadway Chicago, IL 60640, ph: (773) 784-0044: If you are trying to get your foot into the health care industry you will want to be sure to check out the CNA training classes that this facility offers.
7. Chicago Care Training Center, 345 East Superior Street, Chicago, ph: (312) 238-1000: This is another center that has been acknowledged by quite a few due to their remarkable CNA training course.
8. Citi College of Allied Health, 134 N La Salle Street, Chicago, IL 60602, ph: (312) 236-9000: If you are looking for a course where financial aid may be accepted keep this college in mind.
9. Kishwaukee College, 21193 Malta Road Malta, IL 60150, ph: (815) 825-2086: This college allows residents of Chicago and surrounding cities to attend their CNA training courses. It is 8 weeks long and it has also been approved by the state.
10. Chicago Public Schools Nursing Program, 125 South Clark St # 14 Chicago, IL 60603-4013, ph: (773) 553-1000: This program is available to students who are enrolled in Chicago’s public schools.
