This is because Massachusetts has guidelines in place that states you must have taken an approved course that lasts for at least one hundred hours to even be eligible to sit for the state exam. In order to apply to take the state exam you are going to need to have three things – your certificate that states you have completed a nursing assistant training program successfully, your completed application, and a money order or certified check that covers the cost of the test. If you do not have your entire application filled out when sending it in you will then receive all of the items you sent in back along with a letter that explains in detail why you received the packet back. However, the good thing is that Massachusetts is one of the states that do not have a limit as to when you can take the test after completing training. However, when you do decide to take the test you will want to make sure that on the scheduled date you arrive at least 15 minutes before the test begins because if you are late you will not be allowed inside and you will even have to pay to reschedule the test.
